The death occurred at home on 23rd May 2024 of Mr William ‘Willie’ Reid aged 62 years of Cinderford and formerly of Scotland.
The Funeral Service took place at The Forest of Dean Crematorium on Friday 21st June with Mr Neil Williams officiating. On entry to the crematorium chapel, a recording of ‘Highland Cathedral’ was played. The Poem ‘Epitaph on my own friend’ by Robert Burns was read and during a Time for Reflection, the mourners listened to a recording of ‘Amazing Grace.’ The Eulogy was given by Ruth (his wife) then the track ‘I’ll never find another you’ by The Seekers was played to allow family and friends to sit and reflect on their own memories that they have of Willie. The Time of Farewell music was ‘Wild mountain thyme’ recorded by Joan Baez and the recessional music was ‘The carnival is over’ as recorded by The Seekers.
The arrangements were carried out by Gordon Blake Funeral Director, 2 High Street, Cinderford, Gloucestershire, GL14 2SH.
